Microphone contest update

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011 | by

We’re quickly approaching the 2nd monthly drawing for a free microphone. This month’s prize: Lewitt Audio’s flagship multipattern condenser, the LCT-640! If you haven’t already entered, click to join the microphone giveaway.

The January prize, a Cascade Fathead II/Lundahl plus Cloud Microphones Cloudlifter CL-1, was won by Juan Carlos Bagnell. Congratulations to Juan! Check out Juan’s video series, Movies You May Have Missed, or read more about him here.

Special thanks to the contest sponsors: Blue Microphones, CAD Audio, Cascade Microphones, Cloud Microphones, Lauten Audio, Lewitt Audio, and Shure! These seven awesome companies were the first to jump into the Mic-a-Month Giveaway.

There are six sponsorship slots remaining. Who should I ask to participate? What mic would you want to win?

Post a comment; public votes here will go a long way toward enticing a sponsor to participate.

What about Shiny Box? I have heard a few samples online, and they sound great.

Guys, I agree with Hans-Olav. Shiny Box would be a good choice! Also, something like an EV RE20 or other stuff from EV would also be great. Audix makes some things I’d love to have. So does AKG (a c414 would be nice). I wonder if you could get anything from M-audio. Sputniks and Pulsar 2’s are fantastic…

How about some acoustic treatment (even though it’s not reallly MICROPHONES, it IS essential for good recording), upper range MXL mics, AA audio mics, JJ audio mics, etc etc.
