Good Reads at the Hangar

Bathroom reading at the Hangar StudioI made a pilgrimage to Sacramento last weekend, to visit John Baccigaluppi (publisher of TapeOp) at The Hangar. I was on a mission (about which more shall be revealed here soon) and so I didn’t have time to take any pictures, except this one because it’s just too awesome.

Well, what else would you expect to find in John’s studio bathroom?

I need to plug the Hangar. That space kicks ass. I didn’t even see the live room, but I’d have been psyched to record in the lobby. This place has a great vibe. Is it too late for me to be a skateboarder?

John was over-the-top accommodating — he set me up in a private office for the day, loaned me a Mac when my laptop took a dump, and gave me a tour of some of his prized vintage mics. I’m looking forward to a return visit, and I promise I’ll take more pictures next time. Including some of those microphones.
