ADK Odin
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The Odin is a FET condenser microphone that incorporates the high-SPL performance and the three tone colors of ADK’s S-7, S-7B, and S-7C into a single microphone.
A three-position high-frequency shelving filter offers attenuated, neutral, or “brilliant” HF EQ. The flat/neutral position reproduces the tone of the original ADK S-7. The enhanced/bright HF position reproduces the tone of the S-7C. The attenuated/dark HF position reproduces the tone of the S-7B.
A second switch offers a three-way high-pass filter: flat, 100Hz, 150Hz.
Although initially and perhaps only briefly released as the S-7A, the microphone has been officially renamed as the “Odin.”
See also the multipattern version of the Odin, called “Thor.”
The mic was announced at Winter NAMM 2012.
We will update this profile with additional specifications when they become available.
The ADK Odin is also known as: S-7A.
The mic was released in 2012.
