ADK S-7
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The S-7 is a fixed-cardioid mic designed for high-SPL applications, from rock vocal to kick drum. The output circuit is transformerless.
A three-way onboard pad offers up to 18dB attenuation, for a max SPL of 150dB. A three-way HPF can cut the low end at 100Hz or 150Hz.
The mic ships in a black wooden jewel case with a metal “ring mount.” An elastic shockmount is available separately (p/n ADKMountBaskBlk).
ADK subsequently released “mellower” version of this mic, called the S-7B. The capsule and housing are the same; the ‘B’ version has a different EQ circuit built into the preamplifier.

The ADK Custom Shop has a new Mod that can alter the basic tone-signature of the S-7 to make it as mellow as you want it.
Current version had extensive Beta on Drum Elements and Cabs.
But for Brass, there is a MOD that will make the S-7 sound
more like a HIGH SPL Hamburg Edition. We believe in the idea
of improvisation. And the idea that one size does not fit all.
The ADK S-7 is also known as: S7.
The mic was released in 2007.
