TNC Audio ACM-2
Bidirectional Ribbon Microphone
The ACM-2 is a passive ribbon microphone with a 45mm aluminum ribbon. It appears to be another ShuaiYin SYR-30 clone, and is most likely identical to the t.bone RM700 and Nady RSM-4.
The large headbasket measures 3'' in diameter. The body diameter is ~7/8'' (22mm).
There is no circuit board or chassis under the body. The three screws nearest the head detach the capsule assembly and reveal the transformer; the bottom set of screws hold the XLR jack in place.
The front and back grilles are flat, rather than bowed (as in some SYR-30 derivatives).
Three layers of screening protect the ribbon element from blasts: the heavy outer grille (visible in the photos), a medium gauge layer of metal mesh just under the outer grille, and a layer of fine mesh mounted to the ribbon motor, covering just the ribbon.
The ACM-2 ships in a padded wooden storage case with a plastic mic clip.
The TNC Audio ACM-2 is also known as: ACM2.
The mic was released in 2008.
