Description
The Apex 215 is a Chinese dual-ribbon microphone. It is a rebadged ShuaiYin SYR50 / Alctron HRM-14B.
Because passive ribbon motors traditionally have lower sensitivity than condenser designs, the use of a second ribbon — usually mounted side-by-side with the first — can raise sensitivity and output level.
