Advanced Audio Microphones CM48 FET
Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone
The CM48 FET is a 3-pattern FET condenser microphone.
The capsule is Advanced Audio’s AK47, a 32mm version of the 34mm Neumann K47 design, made with 6-micron diaphragms. This capsule is a dual-sided design, which allows the microphone to offer multiple polar patterns.
The circuit is a 2-stage FET amplifier with an output transformer. It is identical to that of the CM87.
Three switches circling the base of the mic’s headbasket allow multiple configuration options:
- Polar pattern: Cardioid, Omnidirectional, Figure-8
- Pad: -10dB
- High-pass filter: 100Hz rolloff
The CM48 FET ships with an elastic shockmount and an aluminum flightcase.
The Advanced Audio Microphones CM48 FET is also known as: CM48.
The mic was released in 2013.
