ADK A-51 Mk 5.1
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The ADK A-51 Mk 5.1 is a fifth-generation large diaphragm FET condenser microphone; the original mic in this series, known as the “Type II,” was introduced in 1998.
The mic has evolved over the years, encompassing different capsules, transformers, and circuits. However, all share the same basic architecture: K67 capsule, FET circuitry with negative feedback, output transformer, Cardioid polar pattern, internal switch for high-pass filter.
The Mk 5.1 was discontinued in 2012 in favor of the S-51, aka A-51 S, which is identical to the Mk 5.1 save for two external switches for pad and high-pass filter.
The ADK A-51 Mk 5.1 is also known as: A-51.
The mic was released in 2008.
