Carvin Corporation CM-87S
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The CM-87S is large-diaphragm condenser based on the ADK A51 / MXL 2001. (Though previously identified on this page as a “Chinese clone of the Neumann U87,” it is no such thing; its circuit and capsule differ significantly.)
It shares body parts and perhaps internal components with numerous Alctron and Soundking products, such as Alctron’s HSMC003 and the Soundking EC011. However, full specs for all these products are not available, preventing an accurate identification.
This mic comes with a dedicated phantom-power supply.
The mic’s circuit appears to be identical to the A51/2001; this is a hybrid design, with a transistor stage preceding a 2:1 output transformer. The capsule is presumably a 32mm K67 style.

The mic ships in an aluminum flightcase with a 30' cable, power supply and shockmount.
The Carvin Corporation CM-87S is also known as: CM87, CM87S.
