About George Shilling

George Shilling has worked in the music industry for more than 25 years, in the main as a recording engineer and producer across many genres from rock and pop acts like Steve Winwood, Soup Dragons, Slade, Delirious? and Primal Scream to classical crossover like Opera Babes and jazz recordings. Now working mainly from his own Bank Cottage Studio, his expertise runs to a number of related areas. As well as recording and mixing, he writes reviews of studio gear and software for Resolution Magazine, interviews producers for recordproduction.com, and increasingly writes and plays music himself. A trained cellist, he also plays many other instruments will often contribute performances to artists he works with, and recent writing credits include ads for Coke and Woolworths, music for a European Football TV show, and a song on a 500,000+ selling album by French singer Nolwenn Leroy. He also writes with Sundae Club.

George is also involved in Music Technology education and has run masterclasses and lectures to share his knowledge. Online Mixing and Mastering is an increasing part of his work, where he makes use of his extremely well-appointed studio, adding the odd overdub when required.
