Definition of "varimotion":

AKG’s Laminate Varimotion is a type of dynamic microphone membrane characterized by the lamination of two layers of plastic, one lightweight and the other dense, into a single-piece, variable-thickness piece. The thin outer edges allow for extended low-frequency response, while the thicker center of the membrane allows for high SPL handling.
