The microphone division of Soundelux was founded by David Bock, a former audio engineer. Following years of experience repairing “temperamental” old tube microphones as one of the two techs at Oceanway Studios, Bock saw a lack of contemporary microphones that delivered the sound quality of the vintage models, and began designing the Soundelux product line.
Soundelux dates to 1980, but Bock’s microphone division started later, in 1995.
Bock and Soundelux parted ways in 2006. David Bock retained the rights to his microphone designs, some of which have been re-released under the Bock Audio name.
