Peluso Microphone Lab CEMC-6
Detachable-Capsule Pencil Condenser Microphone
The CEMC-6 is a highly regarded transformerless pencil condenser. The preamp body and circuitry are believed to be manufactured by Feilo in China (see the CR1-14), but the detachable capsules are skinned and tuned by Peluso in the US.
Four 20mm capsules (with 17mm, 6-micron diaphragms) are available:
- Cardioid
- Wide Cardioid
- Omnidirectional
- Hypercardioid
These capsules should also fit and function with the CR1-14 and the Advanced Audio CM-54.
The mic ships with a cardioid capsule (the others are available separately) and a mic clip in a padded wooden box. Shockmounts are also available separately.
The mic bodies and capsules are also available in matched stereo pairs; see the “CEMC6 Stereo Kit” link.

I ran through all of the capsules, and thought that the cardioid cap is one of the best I’ve heard. Easily smoking any other condenser mic out there under a grand.
The Peluso Microphone Lab CEMC-6 is also known as: CEMC6.
