CardioidMXL BCC-1

Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The MXL BCC-1 is a small diaphragm condenser in a large body aesthetically similar to the classic Electro-Voice RE20 and RE27 broadcast dynamics.

The capsule is the same as is found in MXL’s 603S, 604, and 606 pencil mics. It is MXL’s standard small-diaphragm capsule, here internally shockmounted to prevent handling noise.

The mic uses an output transformer.

The mic’s frequency response is nominally flat, with a slight presence bump around 6-8kHz.

Although the mic is described as having a narrow polar pattern, the published polar graph shows a wide cardioid response, with only 2–3dB attenuation at 90° and 5‐10dB attenuation across the rear hemisphere.

The mic features a built in yoke mount for studio stand or broadcast boom.

The MXL WS-002 foam windscreen is included.

The MXL BCC-1 is also known as: BCC, BCC1.
