Electro-Voice RE27N/D
Cardioid Dynamic Microphone
The RE27N/D is a modern reinterpretation of the RE20. It is a large dynamic microphone intended for use on broadcast vocals as well as instrument applications.
Both the RE27N/D and NE20 use Electro-Voice’s Variable-D technique to reduce proximity effect. According to E-V, this allows the mic to “maintain [a] uniform low-frequency response at any distance,” making it more forgiving for sources that move around the element.
The RE27N/D uses rare-earth Neodymium magnets for enhanced detail and high-frequency response, as well as increased sensitivity.
The mic incorporates three switchable filters:
- High-pass filter: -6dB/octave @ 200Hz
- High-pass filter: -4dB/octave @ 800Hz
- High-frequency shelf EQ: -3dB above 3kHz.
An internal blast filter reduces popping, breath sounds and excessive sibilance.
The RE27N/D has as transformerless output.
The Electro-Voice RE27N/D is also known as: RE27ND, RE27.
