Detachable-Capsule Pencil Condenser Microphone
The e70 is a dual-capsule pencil condenser intended for instrument miking — hi-hats, overheads, acoustic guitar, etc. The frequency response graphs are flat from 40Hz to about 5kHz, with presence peaks that vary according to which of the two included capsules is installed, cardioid or omni.
It utilizes the Schoeps-type amplifier circuit that is common to Chinese condenser microphones. This circuit has a FET input, usually a 2SK170 although unknown in the case of the e70, and two discrete transistors for the output stage.
The e70 competes with numerous other mics in this niche; a few that even match the e70’s dual capsules, 3-way pad, and 3-way HPF include:
- Advanced Audio CM-54
- ADK SC-2
- Feilo CR1-14
The e70 is a part of CAD’s Al Di Meola Acoustic Mic Pack.
Although the e70 bears the “Equitek” name, it does not actually employ the Equitek amplifier circuit.

The mic was released in 2005.
