Blue Microphones OmniMouse
Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone
Based on the design of the Mouse microphone, the OmniMouse is a small diaphragm condenser microphone featuring a rotating omnidirectional capsule enclosed within a spherical grille.
The capsule is the Blue B4, available separately in a bayonet-mount lollipop head for Blue’s Bottle and Bottle Rockets mics. The B4 uses a center-terminated, 18mm Mylar diaphragm sputtered with gold and covered with an aluminum grille, on a 24mm capsule. The voicing of the B4 is said to be modeled after the Neumann M50.
Although the lollipop B4 head can be fitted to at least three other Blue mics, none of them provide a transformer-coupled FET amplifier, making the OmniMouse a unique combination within Blue’s product line.
The Omni Mouse was discontinued in 2009.
