Avantone Pro CK-1
Detachable-Capsule Pencil Condenser Microphone
The Avant CK-1 is an inexpensive pencil condenser microphone that ships with three interchangeable capsules, providing three polar patterns: cardioid, omnidirectional, hypercardioid.
Swapping capsules on the CK-1 is slightly different than on many competing mics, because only the internal capsule assembly is included. To change the CK-1’s capsule, first detach the chromed brass head, then swap the internal capsule assembly, then replace the brass head. Avant’s tube SDC, the CV-28, utilizes the same approach.
The CK-1 body is machined from brass, and is finished in the company’s trademark “cabernet” red, with polished nickel trim.
The CK-1 ships in a padded wooden box with a an elastic shockmount (p/n SSM) and the three capsules described above (omni, cardioid, hyper).
All Avant mics are tested by hand (and ear) in California prior to shipment.
The Avantone Pro CK-1 is also known as: CK1.
