Audix D6
MSRP: $349 Cardioid Dynamic Microphone
Description
As a dedicated kick drum/bass cab mic, the D6 has a frequency response graph tailored to those applications:
- There is a peak from 35Hz-80Hz.
- Frequencies from 90Hz-600Hz are attenuated to reduce boominess.
- Another peak above 1000Hz gives clarity and definition.
MixForget EQ. You don’t need it.
Reviews of the D6 are uniformly positive, almost unbelievably so; e.g. check out the full-page D6 advertisement that quotes Randall May, Modern Drummer, Pro Audio Review, and engineers for Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bonnie Raitt, Pearl Jam, and the Blue Man Group (!).
As with Audix’s D2 and D4 mics, the D6 body narrows to a 21.5mm barrel to fit the Audix MC2 mic clip.
Available in black anodized ($349) or silver/nickel (model D6-SILVER, $449).
Audix mics are made in the USA.
The Audix D6 is also known as: D-6.
