8-Mic Set

The Studio Elite 8 is Audix’ premier microphone kit for drum recording. It contains the company’s best choices in every category:

  • One D6 for kick drum
  • One i5 dynamic for snare, with DVICE
  • Two D2 dynamics for high toms, with DVICEs
  • One D4 dynamic for floor tom, with DVICE
  • Two SCX25A large-diaphragm condensers for overheads, with SMT25 shockmounts
  • One SCX1 with a hypercardioid capsule, for hi-hat

The SCX-1 is a pencil mic with detachable capsules. This kit includes the hypercardioid capsule, intended to reduce bleed from the snare and small tom when positioned near the hi-hat. Users can elect to purchase the omni or cardioid capsules separately, to expand the possible applications for this mic around the studio.

Audix DVice gooseneck rim clampThe DVICE is an adjustable rim mount, with a gooseneck arm to facilitate mic positioning. The DVICE includes the DCLIP, a rigid plastic clip engineered to tightly grip the end of the D2/D4/D6 body.
