Audio-Technica AE6100
Hypercardioid Dynamic Microphone
The AE6100 is a handheld dynamic vocal microphone. It has a hypercardioid pickup pattern with deep nulls at ±120°, providing excellent feedback rejection for stage applications (provided the rear of the microphone is not pointed directly at the monitors).
The mic’s response rolls off below 150Hz, which in combination with internal shockmounting helps to reduce handling noise.
Two presence peaks help with articulation: +8dB @ 5kHz, +6dB at 9–10kHz.
The mic ships with a “Quiet-Flex” clip (A-T p/n AT8470), European thread adapter, and a soft storage pouch.
See also the 50th Anniversary edition of the microphone, the AE6100/LE, released in 2012.
