A.I.R Liberator
Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone
The A.I.R Liberator is a multipattern tube condenser with a transformer coupled output. It uses a 2-stage circuit that uses both triodes in the 12AX7 tube; its transformer ratio is approximately 10:1.
The capsule is a 32mm K67 type, as can be found in most low-cost microphones.
External switches provide independent high-pass filter and pad capabilities.
The Liberator is internally identical to that of the Avantone CV-12, although the CV-12 has metal switches rather than plastic. Both of these mics differ from the popular Apex 460, both because these microphones have switches, and because the output capacitor here is upgraded from an electrolytic to a film type.
