Bock Audio 407
Cardioid Tube Condenser Microphone
The Bock Audio 4-ZERO-7 is Bock’s interpretation of the Neumann U47. It is a tube condenser microphone with a K47 capsule, built to capture the sound of the original U47.
The circuit is identical to that of the Bock 507, with a NOS EF814 glass pentode tube (wired as a triode) and a fully balanced, transformer-coupled output. According to the documentation, the use of a higher-value grid resistor allows the circuit’s low-frequency cutoff to drop from 40Hz to 10Hz.
The mic’s capsule is a single-backplate K47 type, manufactured exclusively for Bock Audio by MBHO.
The Bock Audio 407 is also known as: 4-ZERO-7.
The mic was released in 2014.
