Omnidirectional Boundary Microphone

The Opus 51 is a boundary mic designed for instrument recording. The specifically targeted applications include piano and kick drum.

The mic’s pickup pattern is “half spherical.”

The frequency response is flat from 40Hz - 3kHz. A mild presence peak brings the response up 3dB around 9kHz.

The mic includes a power supply, p/n CV 3, which enables the mic to take phantom power from any compatible console or preamp. A separate accessory, p/n ZC3, can provide battery power.

The mic was released in 2000.
