Sterling Audio ST79 FET
Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone
The Sterling Audio ST79 is a 3-pattern large-diaphragm FET condenser.
The ST77 and ST79 use a different capsule than the other FET mics in Sterling’s line, with a thicker 8-micron diaphragm. We believe this mic does not use a “disk resonator,” as do most of the large-diaphragm mics.
See also the ST77, a fixed-cardioid, single diaphragm version of the ST79. The ST77 and ST79 do not appear to be adaptations of previous Groove Tubes models.
The ST79 ships in a wooden storage case with an elastic shockmount (p/n SM7) and a foam windscreen.
