X/Y Stereo Condenser Microphone

Sanken’s CUW-180 is a unique stereo condenser microphone with twin Cardioid capsules that can be rotated independently through any angle up to 180°. The two egg-shaped capsule headbaskets are mounted on either side of a narrow shaft; the mounting mechanism has a detent every 15°, through ±90° for each capsule.

The capsules are externally-biased and require phantom power.

The CUW-180 includes a mic clip (Sanken p/n H-21F), a 1.8m XLR5F-to-dual-XLR3M breakout cable (p/n SC-532), and a vinyl storage case.

An elastic shockmount (p/n GS-180), an oversized headbasket (“cage screen”, p/n WS-180 and WS-180W), a flight case (p/n TC-180), and a variety of other accessories are available separately.

Additional details on this mic are forthcoming.
