SE Electronics sE1a
Cardioid Pencil Condenser Microphone
The sE-1a is a low-cost, small-diaphragm Cardioid FET condenser microphone.
It shipped with a Cardioid capsule that could be removed. The sE1a head amp accepts capsules made for the sE2a, which reportedly used an identical head amp.
The Cardioid capsule has a 0.75'' (19mm) diaphragm.
Reviews are generally positive, although often cite the “value for the money” argument, which has lost some of its impact since the reviews were written (3+ years ago).
This mic is available singly, or in a factory matched stereo pair. The pair is bundled with a special case and a stereo bar for $499 (MSRP, late 2011).
The SE Electronics sE1a is also known as: 1A, SE-1A, SE1, SE-1.
The mic was released in 2004.
