Oktava MKL-111
Multi-Pattern Tube Condenser Microphone
The MKL-111 is Oktava’s new flagship tube condenser microphone. It marries the MK-102 capsule to an EC92-based tube amplifier circuit. The output is transformer-coupled.
The amplifier circuit follows a minimalist philosophy, with fewer than 10 components on the PCB. All components are through-hole, rather than surface-mount.
The capsule is a center-terminated design, very similar to the MK-102 capsule head for the MK-012 hybrid microphone. Whereas the MK-102 capsule uses a single diaphragm, the MKL-111 uses a dual diaphragm model. The diaphragm diameter is 27.5mm.
A pattern control on the power supply allows selection of Omni, Cardioid, Figure-8, or any intermediate pattern.
The microphone is built by hand in Tula, Russia.
