Microtech Gefell M 930 art
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The M 930 art, like its relative the M930, is a transformerless FET condenser with a fixed cardioid pattern. It differs from the M930 in these respects:
- Like the M990 art, the M930 art has a handmade PVC diaphragm in its capsule. (But the capsule is not an M7 — rather it is an M930 capsule with a PVC diaphragm.)
- The microphone body is accented with a stripe of pearl gold.
Gefell celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2008 with the release of two custom microphones, the M 990 art and M 930 art. Both feature handmade PVC diaphragms and distinctive finishes. Both mics will be discontinued in March, 2009.
Studio Magazin describes both “art” mics as (forgive the rough translation) unbelievably close and detailed, with irresistably warm, clear highs and disarmingly honest mids. It concludes, “These microphones sound simply awesome!”
The “M 930 art” is shipped in a padded wooden storage case with the MH 93.1 mic clip (p/n 2111111). Accessories are available separately (including an elastic suspension mount).
The Microtech Gefell M 930 art is also known as: M930-art.
The mic was released in 2008.
