MXL V88s
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The MXL V88S is a large-diaphragm FET condenser designed for vocals and general studio use. It is an update to the V88; the primary differences are that the V88S is designed to sound “warmer,” and the V88S has a 3-way pad switch.
The pad can be set to 0dB, -10dB, or -20dB; the latter raises the mic’s max SPL to 158dB (0.5% distortion).
Both the V88 and V88S are transformerless, and have fixed Cardioid pickup patterns.
The V88S ships with the MXL06 shockmount and an aluminum flight case.
