Apex Electronics 415
Multi-Pattern Condenser Microphone
The Apex 415 is a large-diaphragm, multipattern FET condenser mic of Chinese origin.
A switch on the mic body provide access to three pickup patterns: cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-of-8. A second switch enables the -10dB pad, and a third enables a high-pass filter (aka low-frequency rolloff).
The microphone body is made of anodized brass.
The DC power circuit appears to be nearly identical to that of the CAD GXL3000. The audio circuit is transformerless, and appears to be based on the common Schoeps design, with two bipolar output transistors.
The 415 ships with a spider shockmount (p/n IMC-3), a foam windscreen, and a storage case.
