Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The Alctron V2 is the middle of a set of three microphones that appear to be designed to mimic the AKG Perception series. The V2 is Alctron’s copy of the Perception 220, a fixed-Cardioid mic with a high-pass filter and preattenuation pad.

The V2, unlike the 220, offers three-way pad and filter options:

  • Pad: 0dB, -6dB, -12db
  • HPF: flat, 75Hz, 150Hz

The capsule is described as a 34mm design, and is center-terminated. Presumably the rear diaphragm is not metallized nor wired into the circuit; see the V3 for a multipattern version of this microphone.

Like the Perception microphones, the V-series from Alctron use output transformers.
