Bidirectional Ribbon Microphone

Ningbo Alctron Electronics Co., Ltd. HRM-7

Description

The HRM-7A and HRM-7B are inexpensive “large geometry” ribbon mics made in China; they are sold by Alctron and possibly made by ShuaiYin. Both utilize 50mm, low-tension, 2-micron aluminum ribbons.

The HRM-7A and HRM-7B have identical specs, according to Alctron; the two models differ only in the style of the mount. The 7B has a rotating yoke mount; the 7A has a simpler mount that attaches to the base of the microphone.

Further, the HRM7 mics (7A and 7B) differ from the HRM8 mics only in grille shape and color (and possibly mount style).

All the HRM-7 and HRM-8 mics are smaller than the HRM-1 and HRM-2 mics, although the ribbon element in all cases measures 50mm x 5mm. The HRM-7 and HRM-8 mics have a different transformer and magnet assembly than the HRM-1 and HRM-2.

The Ningbo Alctron Electronics Co., Ltd. HRM-7 is also known as: HRM-7B, HRM7A, HRM-7, HRM-7A.

The mic was released in 2005.
