Applied Microphone Technology B-811
Multi-Pattern Condenser Stereo Microphone
The B-811 microphone is sold in pairs, intended for stereo miking applications such as drum overheads and piano.
Although the specs are not clear, they suggest that the mics can be switched from cardioid to omni pickup patterns. The frequency response chart for omni shows the lack of proximity effect; the low end rolls off aggressively below 200Hz, whereas in cardioid mode, the response is generally flat to 30 Hz.
As a condenser mic, the B811 requires phantom power, but should operate at levels as low as 15V.
Construction is of anodized aviation aluminum.
Each mic has an LED to indicate that power is present.
Comes with:
- Set of 2 microphones
- Hardshell case
These mics are hand made in the USA.
The Applied Microphone Technology B-811 is also known as: B-811.
The mic was released in 2006.
