Cardioid12 Gauge Microphones Green12

Cardioid Condenser Microphone

The Green12 is a Cardioid electret condenser microphone built into a spent Remington 12-gauge shotgun shell.

Green12The capsule is a small electret model, with onboard FET. The mic’s circuit is transformerless, transistorless, and unbalanced. It requires phantom power. The acoustic vents required by the mic’s Cardioid polar pattern are carved into the brass casing of the shotgun shell.

All 12 Gauge microphones are built by hand by Brad Martin, the company founder, who buys and shoots the ammunition for these microphones personally. The microphones do not include mounts, but fit easily into “butterfly” spring clips.

(No specifications for these mics have been provided. We will update this profile as more information is made available.)
