Lucas Engineering

Lucas Engineering is the home of a line of high-end, hand-built professional audio components developed by Terry Manning.

Founded around 1991, at the time of the birth of Manning’s son Lucas, the company currently produces a handful of products, each of which is built to order. The lineup includes a guitar signal splitter (the “Deceiver”), a leveling amp, an EQ, a mic pre, and two tube microphones, the CS-1 and CS-4.

Some of the rackmount products began with the idea of converting classic solid-state designs to tube circuitry.

Manning has partnered with other engineers to assist with design and implementation. Frank Lacy assisted with many of the outboard components, and Oliver Archut of TAB-Funkenwerk designed the CS-series microphones.
