beyerdynamic M 59
Hypercardioid Dynamic Microphone
The M59 is a hypercardioid dynamic microphone intended for studio or field broadcast vocals.
The large-diaphragm moving-coil capsule is shockmounted within the mic body to reduce handling noise. Its low-mass diaphragm is made of Macrolon, a form of polycarbonate plastic said to produce fast transient response and high sensitivity.
At 3 mV/Pa, the M 59 is 1.6x as sensitive as the Shure SM58.
Its frequency response is somewhat like the SM58, with similar LF rolloff and a smoother presence peak above 3kHz.
The beyerdynamic M 59 is also known as: M 59 (S), M 59N(C).
