Avantone Pro

Avant Electronics was incorporated in 2003 by husband-and-wife team Sue and Ken Avant. Sue was the CEO; Ken was the chief product designer. The company was based in Upland, CA.

The first products were passive monitors called MixCubes, plus microphone accessories such as a pop filter, shockmount, and rim mount. These, along with a line of microphones, were officially introduced at Summer NAMM in 2006.

The product line expanded to include the best-selling CV-12 and CV-28 tube mics, as well as active (powered) MixCubes.

In 2011, a management change relocated the company from southern California to New York. The website URL changed to AvantonePro.com. Former VP of Sales, Glen Heffner, took the reins with a title of “Director of Global Sales & Marketing.” He left the firm in mid-2013; control has passed to another former Avant Electronics exec, Craig Devin.

The company continues to manufacture a complete line of studio microphones and monitor products.
