Stephen Sank provides a full range of repair and upgrade services for ribbon microphones.
His father, the late Jon Sank, designed ribbon and dynamic microphones for RCA, and had responsibility for all RCA microphone production from 1958 to 1971.
Mods and Repairs
Sank uses original/NOS 1.8-micron RCA 77-DX ribbon material that is cut, installed and tuned by hand. His corrugation machine came from the RCA engineering shop; Sank’s replacement ribbons for all intents are the original RCA ribbons.
