Sontronics Halo
Cardioid Dynamic Microphone
The Halo is a moving-coil dynamic microphone designed specifically for miking guitar cabinets. It combines the dynamic cartridge of the handheld STC-80 stage mic with the spring-mounted vintage vibe of the Saturn multipattern condenser.
The capsule is suspended by four springs. This is said to reduce the transmission of mechanical noise or rumble through the mic stand.
Its frequency response has been tuned for reproduction of electric guitar.
Like the STC-80, the Halo does not use a transformer on its output circuit.
Additional details and photos are forthcoming.

The mic was released in 2011.
