Description

The sE4 is a detachable-capsule small-diaphragm pencil condenser supplied with a cardioid capsule. A set of omni and hypercardioid capsules can be purchased separately.

The sE4 is identical in sound and circuitry to the sE3; the differences are in packaging and in the sE4’s ability to mount different capsules on the preamp body.

The specs describe a 3-way pad (-10dB, -20dB, flat) but the product photo shows no -20dB option.

The frequency plot published by the manufacturer is well-smoothed and flat from 50 Hz to 5kHz, dropping to -4dB at 20 Hz and with a pronounced presence bump, +4dB at 11kHz.
