Open Plan Recording

Open Plan Recording is the corporate name for Mark Chierego, a Musician, Audio Engineer, and microphone modder from Melbourne, Australia, with a passion for squeezing every last bit of performance out of low cost microphones. He specializes in ribbon microphones.

He believes that microphones are the most important part of the signal chain (besides the musician!) as they are the initial point of contact where sound meets the electrical domain, and if the detail of a performance is not captured at this stage it is forever lost. His mods include ribbon microphones, FET condensers, tube condensers.

Open Plan Recording is located in Australia.
