Nady SCM-900
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The SCM-900 is an inexpensive large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone. The name has been used to describe at least two completely different microphones.
The early SCM-900 was a transformer-coupled design with a 3-micron Mylar diaphragm. These microphones were essentially identical to the JoeMeek JM47, itself a copy of the MXL 2001 (plus a switchable high-pass filter). For the sake of completeness, we are compelled to point out that the MXL 2001 is reportedly a copy of the original ADK A-51 (Type II).

In 2002, the mic changed. The new mic, still in production as of summer 2013, uses a version of the standard Chinese transformerless circuit design, derived from the Schoeps original, with a pushbutton switch on the PCB to enable a high-pass filter. (See forum link in sidebar for more information on the date of the change.)
The capsule in the transformerless microphone is a standard 32mm K67, with only one diaphragm metallized. The diaphragm diameter is 25mm.
The mic ships in a vinyl pouch. Optional accessories include an aluminum flight case (p/n SMCC-2), a shockmount (p/n SSM-3), and a foam windscreen (p/n FM-2).
The Nady SCM-900 is also known as: SCM900.
