Wide Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The N151 is a wide cardioid mic with a medium-sized condenser capsule whose 5-micron nickel diaphragm measures 23.8mm in diameter. According to Mic W, this capsule is similar to the 1-inch capsule in the n101.
Its wide cardioid pickup pattern has only a mild null at 180° the rear rejection measures only 5–10dB.
The capsule is mated to MicW’s high-sensitivity transformerless output circuit.
The mic has an SPL rating of 130dB, although its very high sensitivity of 40mV/Pa suggests that downstream preamps will need to be padded for close-miking or loud sources.
The mic ships in a padded plastic storage box.
