MicW
MicW is a brand of microphones developed by BSWA, a 70-person audio-products company headquartered in Beijing.
The MicW line of products is presented as a “no compromise” series. The microphones share a design aesthetic with traditional measurement-mic style.
The company has developed a trademark sonic signature, described as “smooth high-frequency roll-off.” Frequency plots of several of their microphones render this goal as a broad +5dB hump centered at 8kHz, rolling off to -1dB at 20kHz.
As of late 2010, the company maintains four product lines:
- N series - Professional microphones with nickel diaphragms
- G series - Professional microphones with gold-plated Mylar diaphragms
- E series - Entry-level microphones
- M series - discontinued
