MXL V177
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The V177 is a retro-styled large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone.
The mic has a large-diaphragm, 32mm diameter condenser capsule with a 6-micron diaphragm. It has a fixed cardioid pickup pattern.
The microphone’s self-noise is relatively low at 13dBA. The sensitivity is also somewhat low for modern vocal condensers, at ~9mV/Pa.
The V177 ships with a micro-fiber cleaning cloth and Mogami XLR cable. The mic is packaged in a velvet-lined wooden storage case.
