MCA Microphones was a division of Marshall Electronics, whose better-known mic brand is MXL.

Although the SP1 is still available at a few retailers (as of late 2009), the line has been discontinued.

The old MCAMICS.COM website, which used to show a 1-page description of the SP-1, now serves up a copy of the main MXL site.
