Lewitt Audio LCT 440 Pure
Cardioid Condenser Microphone
The Lewitt LCT 440 PURE is a side-address condenser microphone aimed at all-around studio use.
It is descended from Lewitt’s other side-address studio condensers but is the so-called “distilled essence” of those microphones — hence the “PURE” moniker — meaning that it lack the pattern selection, clip indicators, pads, filters, and other features of its sibling mics.
It does, however, share some features with the other LCT mics, such as the body design and dual-layer head basket. Based on specifications and frequency response, we conclude that the capsule is the same K67-derived design used in Lewitt’s 640/640TS, 550, and 450 mics in the LCT line.
Like all Lewitt microphones, the LCT 440 PURE is designed in Austria and manufactured in Lewitt’s own factory in China.
The LCT 440 PURE ships with Lewitt’s proprietary shockmount, which allows the mic to be positioned with its face flush against a sound source (such as a guitar cabinet) if desired. The package also includes a microphone bag and magnetic pop screen. It is sold in a padded cardboard box.
