Lewitt Audio LCT 340
Detachable-Capsule Pencil Condenser Microphone
The LCT 340 is Lewitt Audio’s flagship small-diaphragm condenser microphone. It is a transformerless FET design with interchangeable half-inch capsules. Currently, Cardioid and Omni capsules are provided.
Two switches on the mic body provide a variety of pad and filter options. A backlighted legend indicates the current selection for each.
The 4-way pad attenuates the signal by 0dB, 6dB, 12dB, or 18dB.
The 4-way high-pass filter can be set to:
- flat/disabled
- -6dB/octave @ 300 Hz
- -6dB/octave @ 150 Hz
- -12dB/octave @ 40 Hz
The two included capsules use externally-polarized (true condenser) elements measuring 12mm in diameter. They are coupled to a low-noise transformerless amplifier circuit. The published self-noise figure for this microphone, 13dBA, is very low for a small-diaphragm design.
The mic ships with two interchangeable capsules (cardioid and omni) in a foam-lined cardboard box. It includes a rubberized mic clip (Lewitt Audio p/n DTP 40 Mts), foam windscreen (LCT 40 Ws), and leather storage pouch (p/n DTP 40 Lb).
As of 2012, Lewitt is offering the microphone with only the Cardioid capsule for a reduced price of MSRP $519.
