JZ Microphones
JZ Microphones is a spinoff of the Latvian medical-equipment manufacturer SIA Scruples, which earned attention in the audio-products industry by doing design and manufacturing for all of the early Blue Microphones products.
(An intellectual property dispute over the rights to the Blue Mics designs was settled out of court; one outcome is that JZ no longer sells Blue Mic lookalikes under its own name, at least not in the US.)
The ‘JZ’ in the name stands for Juris Zarins, chairman of the board and lead designer.
